In her talk, “Leaping With No Net”, Dr. Morski talks about her experiences – as a physician, attorney and successful podcaster (you may have heard of Quit Happens!). She talks about leaving clinical medicine with no back-up job and how she created her dream position as a medical director within the world of medical marijuana and other plant medicine.

I initially did Worker’s Compensation work and started doing medical legal work sometime during my Worker’s Comp years but transitioned to it full time.
Advantages are several and include: most of the work is done at home (file reviews, literature searches, answers to questions); the legal system appreciates good discussions and references as opposed to the Worker’s Comp system which, as a rule does not; one is compensated for his/her time at an appropriate professional rate by professionals who are used to professional fees; the work is interesting, and in my case, I feel I make a difference in people’s lives, just as I did as a clinician, but in a different way.
